Thank you for taking the time to learn about Batten disease. The only chance for a cure is an army fighting for it, and that comes with awareness. Whether you found this blog through our Culvers Share Night benefitting BDSRA (Batten Disease Support, Research & Advocacy Foundation), you're a Cl3an Freak customer, or through some other route, I appreciate your time to educate yourself and hope you will spread the story further. This blog contains the scientific information: Juvenile Batten disease first causes blindness, then seizures, dementia, and mental and physical regression until the child loses the abilities to talk, walk, and swallow, until they are bed ridden and succumb to the disease in their teens to 20s, on average. If you're interested in the more personal story of my son Daxx, please read through my other blogs here on the site, like this one: https://www.cl3anfreak.com/post/april-2024-update
You can also follow Cl3an Freak Tallow on socials where we raise awareness, talk about the hard, raise money for a cure, and share the beauty and the blessings we have been showered with throughout this journey. Hope to see you over there!
