I get so many messages from parents asking for help with their teen’s breakouts. As someone who struggled with horrible cystic acne that only temporarily cleared with Proactive and Accutane (oh how I wish I knew then what I know now!), I feel for these teens and their parents who so badly want to help their child. I too had a teen who struggled with it and he also tried it all to no avail. Because I know these struggles, I work tirelessly behind the scenes to source the best of the best ingredients and tweak recipes in an effort to find a solution. While acne largely comes from the inside (check your diet), how we treat our skin is also a factor. Never strip your skin dry thinking your oils are the enemy. Your skin will overcompensate, producing more oils to return to homeostasis. I always recommend oil cleansing for this reason. I created an oil cleanser infused with ingredients known to calm irritation and stop bacteria in its tracks while also helping to brighten and moisturize. Introducing the Breakout Balm System!

Step 1 is the Breakout Balm Exfoliating Cleanser. Grass-fed tallow is infused with licorice root, arnica, rosehips, marigold, green tea, chamomile, dandelion, calendula & lavender, beeswax, jojoba oil, pumpkin seed oil, coconut sugar, zine oxide & essential oils lavender, tea tree oil, frankincense, bergamot & basil. Gently massage into dry skin. Rinse away exfoliants, then wipe skin with warm, wet towelette. Follow with Breakout Balm moisturizer, made from grass-fed tallow infused with licorice root, arnica, rosehips, marigold, green tea, chamomile, dandelion, calendula & lavender, beeswax, jojoba oil, pumpkin seed oil, sea buckthorn oil, vitamin e oil, squalane oil & essential oils lavender, tea tree oil, frankincense, bergamot & basil. Very little goes a long way, so start small.

Here’s to clear, calm skin!
