I know it sounds crazy, but it's true! Red onion has multiple benefits for hair health, especially helping with hair fall.
Did you know your hair is primarily made of a protein called alpha-keratin. Sulfur makes up about 85% of its structure, forming crucial disulfide bonds, so it strengthens the roots and reduces breakage, and improves elasticity, leading to thicker hair. It has even been known to stimulate dormant follicles, promoting hair regrowth, even in people with alopecia! It is antimicrobial and antifungal, so it can reduce dandruff and itchy scalp. It is reported that the antioxidant quercetin combats oxidative stress, which may prevent premature graying. Some say they notice a reversal of the graying process when adding onion juice to their routine! I get messages often from women struggling with hair loss, usually related to menopause or GLP-1. While I cannot compete with hormones and what they’re doing to our bodies, I can try to combat it. Onion juice is said to block DHT, an androgen hormone derived from testosterone. DHT binds to hair follicle receptors, causing them to shrink, produce progressively finer, shorter hairs until they just stop growing altogether. This is noticed primarily at the temples and crown.
This onion and rice water mist is infused with lavender,  peppermint, rosemary, jasmine green tea, chamomile and cloves with essential oils lavender, rosemary, and peppermint essential oils.
How To Use: Spray the scalp, leaving to soak in for about 30 minutes before washing out. Use once or twice a week. Store in the refrigerator. Use within 1 month.
